Guyana and its Oil
13.6 billion barrels of oil and 32 trillion cubic feet of natural gas are located in the seabed off the coast of Guyana. Even if only half the oil and gas reserves were burnt, the resulting emission could exceed 1 billion tons of CO2.
The oil project would turn the current carbon sink Guyana – a country that is almost 80% covered by pristine rainforest – into the all-time largest issuer of CO2 per capita.

CARBON BOMB - The Film
As part of the Urgewald campaign against the deepsea offshore oil drilling in Guyana, the German NGO commissioned a documentary film. All Guyana footage including drone and interviews was filmed by Tom during his assignment there.
Short Explainer Films
Besides filming the Guyana part for the documentary “Carbon Bomb”, the German NGO Urgewald also commissioned me to produce four explainer videos that can be shared across social media platform to increase awareness of Guyana and its oil drilling plans.
