White Canyon, Ain Houdra Oasis, Mushroom Rock & the small Coloured Canyon
A week ago Gülsah and I joined a trip of Best Offer Safari to the White Canyon. It´s about an hours drive from Dahab in the direction of Nuweiba when youturn right into the desert. No prob for our 4x4 Jeep. After a couple of minutes driving and sliding through the incredibly beautiful looking sand, we stopped at a crack of the White Canyon, where a ladder helps the tourists to get the maybe 12 meters down at this point. For the next one hour or so we hiked through this beautiful valley in between bizarre rock formations. At some points the Canyon was so narrow, that I had to get off my camera backpack and carry it above my head. We reached a much wider open space and a couple hundred meters in the distance we could already see the green of the Ain Houdra Oasis.
We chilled and had lunch there before we headed on to the Mushroom Rock. On the way we stopped at a huge sand dune, where our driver drove our jeep up as far as he could. We got out and walked the rest to the top from where we ran down or turned a few somersaults. The view was fantastic with all the mountains, the valleys and the sand dunes. We ended this trip with another hour´s hike through the beautiful small Coloured Canyon before we headed back to Dahab. The colours and patterns of the stone made some beautiful motives to shoot and I really enjoyed this day out.

Just before we headed home I got a nice shot of this beautiful little black & white bird, that I tried to get a few times already. It is a young White Crowned Wheatear.
By now Gülsah has left again and I myself only have twelve days left here. It´s a weird feeling and until I leave I just won´t think about it. I have and had an amazing time here and I will truly miss Dahab. But as most people who have visited this place, I am sure, I´ll be back :-)
